Politics + more books (day 16)

Spent Monday at the US Capitol (another Parliament House to my list) and watched the Senate (not a lot happened).

Interesting fact - the British burnt down the US Capitol, White House and other buildings of significance in 1814.



Signed up at the Library of Congress (largest in the world and very beautiful) to access the Main Reading Room.

Marvelled at photos of New York from the 1920s and 1930s.

Didn't realise it was so built-up, even then!



Could have spent days in the library...

So much more interesting than the Natural History Museum and Air and Space Museum (which everyone else loves).
