On forgetting (day 12)

Arrived in Buffalo on Thursday and caught a bus that happened to pass through the poorer side of town.

Weathered, ramshackle buildings. Sad but eye-opening.

Catching a glimpse of America others had forgotten.

Or wished to forget.

America is not all shiny and glamorous.

There are people sleeping on the streets of New York and begging in the subways of Boston.

It's easy to turn a blind eye.

I didn't take photos of the sad-looking houses.

But I will remember them.
